• Fashion Friday: White Jeans

Happy Friday everyone!  I’m excited to share with you a wardrobe piece that I just recently added to my collection. White jeans.  I know I’m on a white clothing kick with my white t-shirt post last week but hear me out.  There is just something so classic, clean, and effortless about white jeans.  Here I wore them with a simple black top and tan wedges. White Jeans – Similar Black Top – Similar Wedges Just like the white t-shirt, white pants are versatile, can go with pretty much anything, and can transition from casual to dressy by simply changing or adding accessories.   And I understand the fear of wearing white: the STAIN.…

  • Easy Korean Beef Bowl

Growing up with a Korean mom exposed me to some amazing cultural food that I think a lot of people would love if they tried it.  I know I converted my husband to loving Korean food!  The great thing about Korean food such as this easy Korean Beef Bowl is that it is typically healthy and especially yummy.  In addition most of the ingredients used are often found at your local grocery store. This Korean Beef Bowl is a play on bibimbap (rice and veggie mix) and bulgogi, a flash-grilled meat dish. What is great is that if you are short on time and/or money this dish keeps it pretty fast and cost…

  • Watermelon, Feta, and Cucumber Salad

I LOVE FARMERS MARKETS.  There, I said it.  Who out there relates?!  There is something about the fresh fruits and vegetables at my fingertips, the energy in the air, and the hustle and bustle of people and vendors that always excites me about the farmers market.  This past weekend my family and I went to the Minneapolis Farmers Market and I came home with a bag full of fruits and veggies ready to be eaten. Here are some yummy produce waiting to be bought. I also love that there is so much more than just food at the market, such as flowers, meat, popcorn, and other things. My mom caught my baby girl Gianna…

  • This Week’s Top 5

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!  As I peeked through the internet this week there were some really great things that I absolutely love.  In no particular order here are the top 5 things that I have been obsessing over this past week. 1. The Maxi Dress: Printed Maxi Dress $78.00 Love that this dress is simple yet so pretty.  Great for summer days out shopping or lunch with the kids. 2. The Tote: Halogen Graphic Tote $78.00 During the summer I always default to a tote because I find myself carrying more things such as sunscreen, camera, sunglasses, and my iPad.  This tote is great because since it is neutral it will go with…

  • Fashion Friday: The White T-Shirt

Its Friday, the sun is shining and begging me to come outside! What to wear on a beautiful day like today? Then I see it: my white t-shirt.  Simple. Clean. And so easy to throw on with everything from a skirt, to shorts, to leggings.  The white t-shirt is such a basic staple that needs to be in every woman’s closet.  Why? Because it can be paired with almost anything and can transform itself to fit any situation or look just by changing and adding accessories.  Going out on a date? Throw on a skirt, colorful necklace, and some heels with your t-shirt.  Running around with the kids?  Simple pendant necklace, sandals, and skinny jeans and…

  • Summer Black Bean Salad

Are you all feeling the heat and humidity like I am? Here in Minnesota the storms have been hitting hard which means the humidity is high and also my hair is CRAZY a bit frizzy.  Which all (except the hair) leads me to put together quick, simple, and refreshing meals and snacks.  Enter my favorite side dish, black bean salad.  A roommate of mine in college introduced me to this dish many years ago and have loved it ever since .   The beauty of this dish is it is low cost (which is how I managed to eat it in college) and extremely healthy as well with ingredients like black beans, corn, and cilantro.  In fact, just this morning I read…

  • Red, White, and Blue Drink

Need a last minute drink for your 4th of July party today?  I was looking for a recipe for the big holiday bash that would be easy to put together the day of the party and would be pretty inexpensive as well.  I had already baked the Firecracker Cookies but knew I needed to add something else that was quick and easy to prepare. Scrolling through some ideas online I saw a picture of a tri-colored drink.  Hmm, something I don’t have to bake or cook?  Let’s check this out!     Everything I read said it was as easy as pouring together three drinks with different sugar contents because the drink with the most sugar…

  • Top 5

There are so many great things out there that I have had my eye on- clothes, places to go, decor, projects, and more.  So each week I am going to compile the top 5 things I have been obsessing over lately.  Sort of like a wishlist of things, or a dreambook. All the pictures of things you would like, or rooms you love looking at, or places you imagine yourself at.  As you go through these five things that I am loving think about what five things you would put on your wishlist. So here they are, in no particular order: 1. The White Kitchen. Via I LOVE THIS KITCHEN. Period.  The clean lines, the crisp white cabinetry, the…

  • Red, White, and Blue Layered Cake

Today I wanted to share the cake we baked and decorated for last year’s Independence Day celebration.  From the outside it looked like a typical cake.  My oldest frosted it himself with a homemade caramel frosting from a recipe his grandma gave to us and was delicious. Hence the light brown color. Inside the cake, however, was the surprise.  When you cut into the cake you could see the layers of the cake were red, white, and blue.  Fun!  The cake was a hit at the party, it tasted great, and was pretty simple to make. The Cake: Batter: We used a box of regular store-bought white cake mix.  We mixed the ingredients and…

  • Fashion Friday: The Maxi Dress

With it being the first Friday of official summer break, I decided I would kick off the weekend with some awesome fashion finds! The first thing that came to mind when thinking about clothes that are effortless, comfortable, and yet also still look good (gotta keep my sanity and feel like a human while mothering 3 kids!) I came up with maxi dresses. The maxi dress: epitome of simple, classy, comfy, and perfect for the hot summer weather.  And as it may be TMI but understandable for all moms, the maxi dress is also nice because in the event I need to bend down, sit down, or even crawl I’m still looking presentable,…
